Melina Blanco is a music producer, and DJ from Costa Rica, now based in Portugal.

With a diverse and ever-evolving musical identity, Melina aims to bring her own sound to both her productions and sets, moving between various genres, energies, and moods.

On techno-oriented sets, she gravitates toward high-energy sounds that emphasize distortion, raw, driving basslines, and experimental elements. 

More of her previous and current releases showcase a different energy and style, one that is more relaxed, playful, and ethereal. In this realm, her productions often feature softer, more atmospheric tones, delicate textures, and a sense of fluidity that contrasts with the intensity of her techno work. EPs like "Air," "Éter," and "Lila" reflect this contrast. 

She is a co-founder of TMPL, a collective and record label that plays a pivotal role in Costa Rica’s electronic music scene, specifically within the techno genre. TMPL is dedicated to promoting underground techno culture, curating, producing events and releasing music from both emerging and established artists within the techno and electronic music scenes that bring together local and international talent.

In 2023, Melina created Pollen, a record label based in Lisbon that is centered on exploring innovative soundscapes and pushing the boundaries of both electronic and experimental music. Pollen’s musical focus revolves around genres like ambient, IDM and leftfield. 

In 2024, she started Blanco Noise, an ambient-focused project that delves into the creation of atmospheric soundscapes. The project aims to create an immersive experience engaging  the listener in a sonic journey, creating a mood or sense of place that encourages introspection, relaxation, or concentration. In essence, Blanco Noise focuses on the artistic use of sound for its immersive and emotional effects, blurring the lines between music, noise, and sound design.
